ONE YEAR AGO, BOO HOO

One year ago, headlines claimed
that russian tycoons
were beginning to bemoan
the invasion. Jawohl!

“Frankly, Scarlett,
I don’t give a damn”
was my response.
“And boo hoo, too.”

Of course, they didn’t care
one fig
about what their freak leader
had done to Ukraine.

They’re upset,
boo hoo,
about the loss of lucre
and the lush life they led.

Strangely enough,
a year has passed and
those “cracks in the elite”
never got any bigger.

Those who bemoaned
too loudly,
were shown the window
or the barrel of a gun.
